Schedule of Events

  • Thursday, February 20, 2014, 7:00 p.m. in the Chastain Theatre at The Prizery
    • Halifax County Middle School 6th grade Crossing of the Dan Players, Singers, and Musicians present the story through verse and song. DAR sponsored essay winners will be recognized.
  • Friday, February 21, 2014, the Chastain Theatre and the Boyd's Ferry Site on the Dan River
    • All 6th grade students will visit The Prizery where the Crossing of the Dan Players, Singers, and Musicians will perform. Travis Bowman, portraying Hercules of the Revolution, will address the students.
  • Friday, February 21, 2014, 6:00 p.m.
    • Meet and Greet at Ernie's Restaurant ~ Seafood Buffet
  • Saturday, February 22, 2014, the Chastain Theatre and the Boyd's Ferry Site on the Dan River

    *Weather permitting, Wreath Laying Ceremony will be at the site on the Dan River at 11:00.

    Re-enactment of the Crossing of the Dan River

    Brunswick stew, Bread, and a Beverage will be available to purchase for $5.00, provided by Virgilina Fire Department.
