FOR ADULTS: Drawing with regular or colored pencils. Taught by veteran art teacher Betty Caldwell, this class will teach the fundamentals of drawing to beginners, or help intermediate students polish their technique. The beauty of this class is that the supply list is limited to only pencils and a pad of fresh paper, and the results can be wonderful. Caldwell has more than 30 years of teaching in the public school system and is known for her warm yet professional instructional style. She has exhibited and sold her work widely in the area.
Tuesdays: Feb. 1, 8, 15, 22, 7-9 p.m. at The Prizery. Call Caldwell at 575-7755 to register. Cost: P-B members, $40; non-members $50.
FOR ADULTS: Collage with Karen Shelton. This class will teach the free-wheeling and always satisfying experience of making a collage – or several. Layering interesting papers and covering them with coats of a glue mixture can yield gorgeous results, even for those students who don't consider themselves artistic. Last year’s class produced work that many students proudly hung on the walls of their homes. Shelton is a regionally acclaimed artist who exhibits and sells her paintings all over the Southeastern United States.
Mondays: Feb. 7, 14, 21, 28, 7-9 p.m. at The Prizery. Call 572-3146 or 572-2278 to register.
Cost: P-B members, $65; non-members, $75.
