The Prizery has earned a preservation award from APVA Preservation Virginia. Hanbury Evans Wright Vlattas + Company led the adaptive use of this abandoned tobacco warehouse for a community arts center.

The Gabriella Page Award, which honors the memory of a former APVA president, is presented for outstanding preservation efforts in Virginia.

Greg Rutledge, AIA, was the lead designer on the project, which functions as theater, art gallery, Halifax County welcome center, banquet hall, and has spaces for art, dance and music classes.

It also has received an Excellence in Design Award from the AIA Hampton Roads; an Honorable Mention, Best of the South: Preserving Southern Architecture Award from the Southeast Chapter, Society of Architectural Historians, and an Award of Merit from the Virginia Downtown Development Association.
